Welcome

Welcome to Airfresco's virtual tool box, where you will find the store catalog and other resources to help your HVAC system to operate at maximum efficieny. This website features simple tips and advice to save you from the cost of a service call, or prevent more costly repairs at a later date.  In this virutal toolbox you will find information about:

  • Locating model and serial numbers
  • Scheduling equipment tune-ups
  • When to call your HVAC technician

Locating Model and Serial Number

Most equipment carry a model and serial number, which is usually found in an accessible location.  Furnaces and air handlers have an ID plate on the front or side.  If the ID plate isn't located on the outside of the unit, usually, removal of the cabinet cover should reveal the plate inside.  For the outdoor unit, the ID plate should be visible on the outside.  The ID information may no longer be legible, depending on the age of the unit and how the tag was applied.  However, an experienced technician should be able to find other ways to get information about the equipment.

Scheduling Tune-Ups

A properly maintained HVAC system gives much more dependable service irrespective of the equipment brand.  For a small cost, your HVAC technician will conduct routine inspections to identify potential faults, failing parts, leaks, accumulation of dirt, etc., which can ultimately reduce efficiency, or lead to failure of the system and expensive repairs.  A technician also makes recommendations for improvement of the HVAC system.  You should arrange at least one tune-up to your air conditioning system in spring, and one tune-up to your heating system in fall before the system goes into the peak demand period.

Contact our service team at (631) 284-3438 or email airfrescomail@gmail.com to schedule a tune-up.

Signs of trouble

  • Equipment runs constantly without cycling off or cycles too frequently
  • System takes longer to satisfy your heating or cooling demands
  • Room lights flicker or dim when the equipment cycles on
  • Noisy operation of equipment
  • Frost build-up on refrigerant lines
  • Water leaks
  • Poor air flow from vents
  • Abnormally high energy bills
